El Vuelo de los peces is a work driven by estrangement and the unsettling quality of the dreamlike. Developed as a choreographic laboratory, it questions, tensions, and disrupts conventional methods of constructing choreographic material. The project's central theme revolves around metamorphosis — the transformation of matter, states of being, and the body itself — sparking an organic expression of movement. In its 2016 iteration, the choreographer and artistic director embraced the freedom to explore her own voice, unbound by external structures or visual guidelines. This version prioritizes the dreamlike realm and its profound vision, exploring the connections between life and death, movement and spirituality.
