EFLUVIA : Lo que los ojos no ven

Colombia (2008)

Efluvia (from the Latin effluvium: ex – out / flug – to flow or emanate outward)

A fragile, invisible world surrounds this one we walk upon. The weight of the body itself suffocates, and reason alone is not enough to find reasons. The eyes are blind and do not see, the ears hear only what they wish to hear, touch is weak and selfish, scent is cold and deceptive, the mouth deceives and makes you deceive, and the face takes on a thousand shapes—none of them its own.

As choreographer and director, I received two awards for Efluvia: one for the creation of the choreographic script, granted by Iberescena, and the other for the creation of a dance piece, a creation grant from the Ministry of Culture of Colombia.

Concept, Direction, and Choreography: Vivian Medina
Dancers: Catalina Mosquera, Ángel Ávila, Eduardo Oramas, Eduardo Ruiz
